Ask yourself this question: “If every job paid the same wage, which job would I choose?” Answering this question will free you from money’s influence and allow you to discover what it is you truly love to do. You still may say, “I don’t know what I love.” That’s understandable, so answer these questions to start discovering the right direction.
- If you could do one thing all day at work, what would it be?
- If you could do any job or full-time activity without pay, what would it be?
- What type of work or activity gives you the greatest joy and satisfaction?
- For what would you like to be known?
Doing what you love is your choice. No one can make you do anything. If you don’t like what you do and you continued simply because of money, begin a pursuit of what you want to do. It will take time, but even a one thousand mile journey starts with the first step.
One final reason men and women do not do what they want is fear—fear of failure—fear of not making enough money—fear of the unfamiliar. The only way to overcome fear is to face it. The giant named FEAR always seems more terrible than he really is. Run toward your giant and face him head on.
Do what you love, and your life will be fulfilled. Go after your dreams. Live with passion and never settle for something you ultimately don’t love to do. Can you imagine actually waking up wanting to go to work? I do, and I believe the same can be true for you!

I read almost every day–your comments on various topics. Until today, I ran across a comment that baffled me.
What astounded me was the statement, “we have elected a great communicator not a leader.” Well, can one be both? Are they synonomous? Who would you choose? Many people have not written anything but good stuff about all the other Presidents, not this one. Everybody who did not vote for President Obama can only find criticism about him. He has not served one year yet! As a matter of fact he was not voted for by scores of people because he is black. People with hatred in their hearts bring it out everyday by making statements about why President Obama is not a qualified President. Some people still refer to Martin Luther King, Jr. as “just a great communicator.” He was truly much more, but was he? Isn’t that really a good thing? Then maybe President Obama can make doubters see that he is a great leader by being just what you referred to: “a great communicator.”
